HF Sinclair Midstream is seeking a SCADA Engineer. This position is open to Artesia, NM, Dallas, TX, Tulsa, OK, Salt Lake City, UT, and Casper, WY. The SCADA Engineer leads SCADA initiatives, focusing on standardization, system improvements, and collaboration with other SCADA teams to ensure seamless operations and project success.
Job Duties- Leads PLC programming initiatives, including development of reusable templates and libraries.
- Standardizes SCADA system configurations and programming practices.
- Manages improvement projects to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Partners with cross‑functional teams to implement and optimize SCADA solutions.
- Mentors junior team members and provides technical expertise.
- Ensures compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity protocols.
- Develops and implements advanced monitoring and diagnostic tools for SCADA systems.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts for complex SCADA and PLC issues.
- Special assignments or tasks assigned by the supervisor as determined at their sole discretion.
A minimum of five years of job‑related experience is required.
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
Required SkillsIntermediate knowledge of applications systems and the ability to apply this knowledge. Intermediate working knowledge of information systems concepts/design/development, systems development life cycle, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning; decision‑making, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Conceptual and data analysis skills, advanced reading skills, the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, intermediate reading and writing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
Ability to lead to lead projects as required.
- Advanced proficiency in SCADA system design and PLC programming.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication networks and protocols.
- Experience with SCADA project management and collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead improvement initiatives and implement best practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Office based with up to 30% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery and driver based environment including, but not limited to, chemical, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to risk of electrical shock. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasionally required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on‑call availability.
