Credentials & Qualifications
  • Valid California Preliminary or Clear California Multiple Subjects Credential
  • CLAD / BCLAD / EL Authorization
  • Transitional Kindergarten Requirements:
    • 24 semester units of coursework in Child Development (CD) or Early Childhood Education (ECE)
    • Baccalaureate or higher degree in CD or ECE
    • Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing
    • Three or more years of full‑time teaching experience in transitional kindergarten with preschool‑age children
  • Teacher qualification for grades TK‑6 (self‑contained setting)
  • Either a valid Child Development Permit or 24 semester units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development, or an official district certification of competency.

Work Days & Salary

184 work days, 1.0 FTE.

Annual entry‑level salary placement from $60,544 to $100,773; prorated based on start date, FTE, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Teach multiple subjects, including curriculum design, and incorporate critical learning procedures.
  • Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter as specified in state laws, regulations, and district policies.
  • Develop clear and appropriate lesson plans and identify instructional materials.
  • Select, design, and organize objectives, strategies, and materials for teaching multiple subjects, incorporating research findings.
  • Provide individualized and small‑group instruction, adapt curriculum to student needs, differentiate instruction, and work in inclusive settings.
  • Establish and maintain standards of behavior, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Evaluate student academic and social growth, keep records, prepare progress reports, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Use data to improve the learning and instruction process.
  • Create and maintain an environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, academic achievement, and lifelong skills.
  • Demonstrate competence with new technology and various application packages.
  • Interact daily with school staff, maintain positive staff relations.
Student Management
  • Maximize opportunities for student success by building positive mentoring relationships.
  • Create a classroom environment reflecting 21st‑century skills and meeting individual needs.
  • Serve as a role model for life‑long learning and professional behavior.
  • Implement classroom discipline policy and maintain a safe, conducive learning environment.
  • Provide additional instruction as required to support student skill development.
