SALARY: Ranges 16 & 18, salary placement from $18.71 - $25.13 hourly. Salary prorated based on start date and prior experience.

Title: Classroom Support Instructional Assistant
Salary Range: 16 or 18 (details as listed)
Job Summary: Under general supervision, to assist teachers with instructional duties, and related work as required.
Qualifications- Required:
High school graduation or its equivalent. Must pass basic high school competency test. Ability to speak and write effectively; understand and follow oral and written instructions; work effectively with young people; work independently on own initiative; establish and maintain cooperative relationships; ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure and with frequent interruptions. - Desirable:
Experience in youth activities; knowledge and understanding of developmental stages of students; ability to communicate in Spanish.
- Tutor students, individually or in groups, in prescribed subject matter under direction of certificated staff.
- Administer and correct teacher-prepared tests.
- Monitor on-campus student activities as assigned under the guidance and direction of an administrative staff member.
- Support teacher(s) in clerical duties, such as photocopying and recordkeeping as assigned.
- May set up and use audiovisual equipment and computers to assist students.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
- May require the ability to ascend or descend steps.
- Ability to see and read, with or without vision aids.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
- Ability to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation.
- Ability to bend and twist, kneel and stoop.
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to reach in all directions.
- Physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate audiovisual equipment and computers.
