Summary
Performs daily housekeeping duties which includes dusting, polishing furniture, vacuuming and/or sweeping, cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms and kitchen area, trash removal, making beds and removing/changing bedding, restocking of amenities, bed and bath linens and other supplies, checking condition of room assets and reporting problems to supervisor and responding to guest requests.
Duties- The incumbent vacuum cleans rugs and draperies; shampoos rugs and up holster; sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using light to heavy industrial-type equipment, adjusting and changing buffers, brushes and other attachments as needed.
- Dusts, waxes and polishes office furniture, dusts ledges and woodwork; empties cigarette disposal cans and waste baskets, disposing of trash and recycling waste appropriately.
- The incumbent cleans glass partitions, inside and outside windows, walls and ceiling fixtures using ladders and scaffolds.
- May be required to move and set up tables, chairs and other equipment as required for events.
- The incumbent maintains restrooms in clean, orderly and sanitary condition — cleans, disinfects and deodorizes lavatories, sinks and toilet bowls, replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels and soap.
- Cleans mirrors and water fountains and performs light maintenance such as changing light bulbs.
- When assigned to living quarters, also makes beds, changes linens and collects soiled linen.
- The incumbent maintains an adequate supply of cleaning materials and advises supervisor when more are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Continual standing, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequently lifting and moving objects weighing about 40 lbs. and occasionally objects weighing over 50 lbs.
- Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs, follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects.
- Must be able to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, cleaning compounds and solutions and perform minor maintenance on this equipment.
There is no education requirement.
