Position SummaryThis position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users and Tribal Network staff. The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving.
Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.
- Diagnose and repair computer system hardware.
- Support staff with desktop hardware, software and applications.
- Work with Systems/Network administrator on supporting infrastructure.
- Roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
- Plan, implement, and support desktop upgrades/installations/patching.
- Install and troubleshoot desktop applications/operating systems in a Windows environment.
- Assist with technology planning through ongoing research.
- Training staff on desktop applications and operating systems.
- Documenting workload and environment based on requirements.
- Ability to manage workload and multitask under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Occasional overtime and/or off hour work when required.
No supervisory responsibilities.

The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Physical Demands- Frequently involves sedentary work.
- Occasionally involves light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force to move objects.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.
- Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Constantly requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.
- Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Occasionally requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time.
- Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
- Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A+ Certified with at least 3 years’ experience as a computer technician.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
- AA degree or combination of education and experience.
- Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment urinary analysis.
- Must be licensed and able to drive to locations in North Snohomish County.
- Must be a licensed and insurable driver.
