The Senior Java Developer will support the design, development, and modernization of secure enterprise applications within a federal law enforcement environment. This role focuses on developing cloud-native Java applications deployed within AWS environments supporting mission-critical investigative and operational systems. The developer will work with engineering teams to build scalable microservices, modernize legacy applications, and implement secure development practices within a highly regulated federal environment.
Candidates must hold an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
WORK SITE: Remote
PAY RATE: $100.00 -$110.00
WHAT YOU'LL DO:- Design and develop secure Java-based applications within AWS cloud environments
- Build and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
- Develop scalable applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS
- Implement containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
- Participate in system architecture discussions and modernization initiatives
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize application performance
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with federal security requirements
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
- Document technical solutions and development processes
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience developing applications within AWS cloud environments
- Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab, or similar
- Experience working in secure federal or defense environments
