Visitor Center; VWC Specialist

Overview

Koniag Professional Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Visitor Welcome Center (VWC) Specialist with a Secret security clearance to support KPS and our government customer at Arlington, VA.

• Serve as the initial entry point for all DARPA visitors.
• Determine visitor’s identity and citizenship and make appropriate determinations to allow or deny the visit.
• Receive and send Visit Authorization Letters (VALs) and document related information in various computer systems.
• Prepare and issue temporary Government employee, contractor and visitor security badges to DARPA employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Enter relevant data and maintain appropriate records.
• Inventory and account for all badges.
• Use various computer systems to verify identity, clearances, and visit authorization and to document the visitor’s identity, including taking a photograph of the visitor.
• Occasionally escort visiting personnel to their destinations within the facility.
• Be knowledgeable of DARPA and DoD security requirements and fully qualified in actions needed to ensure the safety and security of all individuals and to detect or prevent compromise of information or material.

• Provide clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal communication.
• Administer safety screenings of employees and visitors.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and walk up and down stairs.
• Work in inclement weather and an outdoor environment; stand in one place for extended periods.
• Detect and report security and safety violations learned through experience and training.
• Work any shift (day, evening, or early morning) on all days of the week and holidays.
• Successfully complete company-provided training, as demonstrated through written and practical examination.
• Greets and processes visitors, provides escort for visitors (especially foreign nationals and personnel without clearances), and accurately documents each visit and visitor.
• Maintain a database that records the details of visitor and escort work effort.
• Process and issue a variety of employee and visitor identification badges; receive and send VALs and record information in the DARPA database.
• Have at least one (1) year performing similar duties in a DoD environment.
• Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret, eligibility for SAP and SCI access; initiate Top Secret clearance within one month of working onsite.
• Successfully complete Preventing Disease Transmission training (blood-borne pathogens) and all other contract-required training.
• Be certified as an Unarmed Security Officer in Virginia;
  Certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, HAZMAT First Responder – Awareness Level, and authorized to use X-ray and Magnetometer devices.
• Be in good general health without physical impairments that would interfere with performance of duties, including prolonged walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, and rapid response to various situations.

• Be a U.S. Citizen.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate SID and DARPA needs.
• Be willing to travel and perform work at other geographical locations.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities.
• Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Accurately and completely prepare and maintain files, records, and reports and convey factual information.
• Coordinate multiple tasks efficiently and remain calm in emergency situations.
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions with limited supervision.
• Possess skills in reading, writing, basic math, document composition, and analytical problem solving.
• Be at least 21 years old at the time of employment on the contract.
• Fluent in written and spoken English with strong written and oral communication skills.

• Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret, eligibility for SAP and SCI access.
• Initiate Top Secret clearance process within one month of working onsite.
