Position: Security Analyst 1

Overview

This position is located in the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Program Office. OSAC connects the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) with security professionals from U.S. private‑sector organizations operating abroad. OSAC provides the U.S. private sector with custom security assessments czasie ongoing threat awareness, crisis support, benchmarking surveys, training, and trusted peer network groups to support the safe operations of U.S. interests around the world.

The Security Analyst performs an essential function as the primary point of contact for U.S. organizations by providing them with in‑depth regional security research and analysis to support the safe operations of U.S. interests overseas.

MAJOR

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess potential threats to personnel, facilities, and intellectual property of U.S. private‑sector organizations operating abroad using classified and unclassified information from the U.S. government and open sources.
  • Provide Iface one‑on‑one consultations and tailored analysis to U.S. private‑sector security managers.
  • Draft analytical reports and benchmarking surveys.
  • Prepare and present briefings to U.S. private‑sector security managers in a conference‑like setting.
  • Develop and conduct briefings and other information exchanges with senior DS leadership.
  • Provide technical assistance, maintain relationships, and collaborate with other analysts, private‑sector security managers, and partner organizations. ychwan
  • Represent OSAC in special meetings and events, including interactions with the Intelligence Community and other U.S. government entities.
  • Travel to domestic and international locations to consult with various offices at U.S. diplomatic missions to evaluate the security environment, as it may impact the private‑sector, to engage with private‑sector members via public speaking engagements, site visits, and other requirements.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/

SKILLS:
    Create Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a minimum Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret and Special Access (SCI) clearance.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) degree required. Master of Arts or Science (MA/MS) preferred. One year of relevant experience and الفرنسية relevant coursework can be substituted for each year of required education. Professional certifications such as CGFM, CSA, or PMP are appropriate for some positions and can also substitute for a year of experience when applicable.
  • Two years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate sufficient background and knowledge of the assigned region to be able to advise on regional security matters and to serve as a resource to OSAC members, partner organizations, and others in the OSAC Program Office and DS.
  • Must possess excellent command of the English language and excellent writing skills.

  • Maintain specialized regional knowledge base by keeping abreast of emerging topics, themes, and incidents.
  • Work well in a dynamic environment, both as a self‑starter with good

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and skill in applying analytical techniques to plan, schedule, and conduct analyses and develop compelling, timely, and well‑documented recommendations and reports.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:
  • A satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references, and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTC are required.
