General Position SummaryStore Managers are the heart and soul of Lids. They foster passion for sporting and fashion goods, lead the store team, drive sales, ensure excellent customer service, and manage store operations to achieve key results.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities People & Training Development- Manage the store’s hiring strategy, including planning needs, recruitment, turnover projections, and leaves.
- Coordinate onboarding with the market’s Authorized Trainer to acclimate new team members.
- Create a fun, productive environment that aligns team members with company objectives.
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive environment adhering to Lids Brand Standards.
- Handle people‑related actions: approve time‑off requests, shift swaps, update availability, timecards, qualifications, and records.
- Lead training strategy for non‑Keyholders, process changes, promotions, and new initiatives.
- Resolve employee concerns, escalating internally when needed.
- Foster engagement through recognition, check‑ins, performance management, and documentation.
- Collaborate across store channels and districts via discussion boards or chat platforms.
- Execute Selling 101 to achieve KPIs and sales targets.
- Resolve customer feedback, escalations, and urgent requests promptly.
- Direct in‑store team to deliver optimal customer service.
- Promote Lids membership programs and special offers during live in‑store sessions.
- Maintain compliance within scheduling and payroll processes.
- Plan and manage the schedule based on qualifications, availability, and performance.
- Handle business disruptions, closures, absenteeism, and operating‑hour impacts.
- Execute company‑level directives, promotions, and initiatives.
- Adhere to the Policies & Procedures Manual for a safe work environment.
- Maintain store technology (MPOS, Lids Custom) through daily audits, updates, and repairs.
- Manage store facilities, supplies, and service requests.
- Handle cash accurately: opening/closing till, counterfeit protection, and bank drops.
- Prepare for and support inventory audits.
- Drive product strategy, supervising receiving to merchandising.
- Optimize backroom organization for efficiency.
- Ensure vendor‑specific.
Methods like custom embroidery limits, purchase amounts, and release dates are respected. - Execute weekly markdowns and markups to set proper pricing.
- Monitor sell‑through and inventory levels.
- Manage transfers and ship‑backs per company standards.
- Execute visual merchandising and store layout for sales effectiveness.
- Maintain store look through daily VM actions.
- Apply special pricing signage during operations.
- Two years post‑secondary education and one year related experience (or equivalent).
- Ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
- Proven supervisory skills, with training delivery and retention assessment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency and corresponding software use.
- Physical: lift up186? to 50 lbs, climb ladder, work with hands overhead, stand full time.
- Willingness to travel overnight for training or meetings.
- Flexible staffing schedule and strong attendance record.
