Job Description

Part-Time Clinical Instructor interested in teaching students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program located in the Arlington, VA area. You will be mentoring students in person at an inpatient clinical setting. You’ll connect classroom and simulation learning with real-world patient care experiences on-site to prepare students for professional nursing roles and high-quality patient care.

Candidates with a completed MSN are encouraged to apply - teaching experience is not required.

Clinicals are scheduled in a healthcare facility in the Arlington, VA area. We are presently accepting applications to meet potential future need in the following areas of specialization:

Mental Health Psych Nursing:

Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient healthcare center. Focus on the dynamics of an individual’s functioning, including anxiety, self-concept, thought disorders, mood alterations, addictive behaviors, organic brain dysfunction, abuse, and violence issues.

Pediatric Nursing:

Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient healthcare center. Family-centered care of children; normal childcare and health alterations from infancy through adolescence.

Maternal OB Nursing:

Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient healthcare center on a Labor & Delivery unit. Focus on family-centered maternal/newborn care, health promotion, and wellness; study of the childbearing cycle, including normal experience, high-risk factors, complications, and alterations.

Complex Adult Health Critical Care:

Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient healthcare center. Focus on adults with unstable emergent critical illnesses; integration of nursing, technology, and scientific knowledge with clinical judgment for diverse patient populations.

Community Public Health Nursing:

Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an outpatient healthcare center. Emphasis on the public/community health nurse’s role as a partner with the community to shape conditions supportive of health.

Capstone Final Clinical:

Final clinical before graduating; focuses on trends and issues in professional nursing and experiential-based nursing experiences; emphasizes legal, ethical, and evidence-based practice.
