This role:

Job Title: Material Handler I - Paint

Location: Richmond, VA

• Loading/unloading all metal parts required for daily fabrication at the paint line.
• Complete daily activities in the work area to ensure daily production goals are met.
• Assist in identifying parts and part descriptions using work order information.
• Develop and maintain the highest quality standards with a focus on zero defects. Work continuously to improve all areas.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment. Understand basic safety procedures and set an example for proper use of safety equipment and apparel.
• Complete and participate in training for manufacturing practices, quality practices, and safety procedures.
• Communicate job status between shifts and manage work in progress.
• Adapt quickly to changing business requirements.
• Help establish continuous improvement processes to optimize resource use, reduce costs, and improve quality.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 12 months experience
• Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills
• Physical ability to reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, and kneel; regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the work day

• Organizational and time management skills
• Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
• Ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and meet deadlines to ensure customer satisfaction
• Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and exercise good judgment
• Knowledge to troubleshoot causes of operating errors and determine the best course of action
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Good teamwork and communication skills; able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors, drivers and/or vendors
• Occasional extended hours
• Positive attitude
