This role is for a Team Lead - Assembly located in South Chesterfield, VA.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a Team Lead who will be responsible to lead a team in a specific area in operations in the coordination of activities of department operations by performing the following duties.

What you'll be responsible for in this role
  • Lead and direct manufacturing teams
  • Manage Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost (SQDC) and Lean responsiveness
  • Conduct daily board (huddle group) team meetings focused on area performance
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Analyze and resolve work problems using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process
  • Provide backup by performing activities of workers in the group
  • Prepare daily start-up plan and execute it
  • Update, implement, and maintain cross-functional training matrix
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to assure on-time delivery to customers or internal departments through Kaizen processes
  • Conduct continuous level load scheduling
  • Coordinate material scheduling and kitting to ensure no shortages on the lines
  • Maintain 6S throughout the shift and operator PM checklists
  • Implement and sustain standard work procedures and practices; sustain visual boards and controls
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers
  • Maintain efficiency levels to 90% or better
  • Other duties may be assigned
Basic qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Over 3 years related experience
  • Basic computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, AS400 or similar system knowledge
Preferred qualifications
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • AS400 experience preferred
Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements
  • Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50% of the shift
  • Must be able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods up to 10 hours/day as needed
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions on the machine up to 40% of the shift
