Vice President of Government Affairs

Swarm Aero is redefining air power, building the largest swarming UAV and most versatile swarming aircraft network in the world. The company is moving quickly to launch the first aircraft designed specifically for swarming as well as the Command & Control software to mobilize swarms of thousands of heterogenous autonomous assets and empower human operators to achieve superhuman results.

The VP of Government Affairs will own the shaping and execution of the company’s legislative strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and proactively providing actionable insights on policy developments. Acting as the company’s primary representative to Congress, this leader will advance legislative priorities, secure priorities, and orchestrate impactful engagements such as briefings, site visits, and high impact events.

• Radical responsibility and ownership: devise our Congressional engagement approach and manage its execution.
• Expert navigation: guide all congressional matters, articulate courses of action for the executive team, and make recommendations based on considered judgment.
• Technical curiosity: stay informed and excited about what we are building and understand the role it will play in national security.
• Influence cultivation: develop relationships before they are needed to advocate smartly for the company when it matters most.

• Minimum five years, preferably eight years of congressional experience.
• Knowledge of defense issues and a demonstrated history of working with at least one of the congressional defense committees or subcommittees.
• Moved with urgency to make big things happen.
• Worked in or with defense industries, especially aerospace.
• Practiced people skills in the legislative sphere; and
• Exceeded professional standards for lobbyists.

• Private sector experience.
• Ethics and sound judgment.
• Humility, quick learning, flexibility, and a collaborative work ethic.
• Direct experience with congressional authorizations.
• Extensive relevant contacts.
• Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
