OpportunityOur Government & Public Sector Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS FAAS) team is growing exponentially, and as a Senior Manager you will play a key role in that growth. Working across all Federal GPS sector service lines, you will develop your career by communicating creative, strategic goals both internally and externally. It is all about listening to and understanding our clients to give them a truly exceptional experience in a field where there are no off‑the‑shelf recommendations.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Actively pursue business development activities, implementing strategies and tactical steps within and outside EY, to identify opportunities.
- Develop proposal responses, train staff and execute engagement deliverables simultaneously.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines, building relationships and identifying opportunities for our clients.
- Regular travel required to meet with key clients.
- Develop and maintain strong, productive working relationships with advisory client personnel.
- Direct field work, inform supervisors of engagement status and manage assurance staff performance.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex governmental accounting, including GASB, budgetary reporting and auditing concepts.
- Develop people through effective delegation of audit tasks and providing guidance.
- Provide performance feedback, training and performance reviews for assurance staff.
- Contribute ideas/opinions to the assurance teams and listen/respond to other team members’ views.
- Foster an efficient, innovative and team‑oriented work environment.
- Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge and enhance service delivery.
- Develop an understanding of EY's service lines and actively seek/encourage assurance team members to contribute ideas and identify opportunities.
- U.S. CPA license in your work state.
- At least 10 years of post‑college experience in financial audit and providing financial reporting advisory support to SLED clients.
- In-depth understanding of US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards, Financial and Single Audit (Subpart F of the OMB Uniform Guidance) and OMB guidance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ACFR, annual financial statements and single audit report for SLED entities.
- Proficiency in modified‑accrual reporting, grants management and budgetary reporting.
- Hands‑on experience with business development in the SLED space and proficiency in deal governance and proposal submissions.
- Experience with large regional or national not‑for‑profit clients a plus.
- Excellent project management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven record of excellence in managing, mentoring and improving high‑performing teams.
- Dedication to teamwork and leadership; integrity in a professional environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher.
- Preferred: 30% travel (federal practice) or up to 80% travel (state, local and education practice).
- CGFM and/or CDFM certifications.

What We Offer- A comprehensive compensation and benefits package with base salary ranging from $146,700 to $335,100 (varies by location) and total rewards including medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.
