Indirect Tax – Unclaimed Property and Escheat Services – Senior Manager
Join EY’s globally integrated team of dedicated indirect tax professionals and have the opportunity to combine your technical knowledge and industry understanding to identify risks and sustainable planning opportunities for our clients. You’ll help us deliver effective processes, improve day‑to‑day reporting, reduce attribution errors and costs, and ensure indirect taxes are handled correctly.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in client consultations and challenge the unclaimed property and escheat approach for optimal effectiveness.
- Develop strong client relationships and collaborate with internal teams while coaching junior members.
- Apply extensive knowledge of unclaimed property concepts and requirements to support client needs.
- Operate in a highly collaborative culture, sharing information with colleagues.
- Provide timely and responsive services and work products to enhance client satisfaction.
- Stay informed of current technical developments and apply knowledge to client situations.
- Analyze information thoroughly and accurately; prepare quality, practical approaches to clients’ unclaimed property situations.
- Demonstrate understanding of increasingly complex unclaimed property concepts.
- Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related work experience.
- CPA certification, membership in the U.S. Bar, or professional designation from the IPT.
- Technical expertise and experience in compliance, audit defense, and consulting for abandoned and unclaimed property services.
- Performance and process advisory experience in unclaimed property compliance.
- Broad exposure to state and local taxation.
- Excellent managerial, organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed and ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant unclaimed property consulting experience within a professional services environment.
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with performance‑based rewards and a base salary range of $135,000 to $308,500 (U.S. locations), with adjusted ranges for select markets.
