Overview
Maintenance Engineer reports directly to the Chief Engineer (CE), and serves as a supportive member of the Maintenance Team, maintaining the highest of standards for the resident experience from the first impression to their move-out day. The Maintenance Engineer understands that resident retention derives most heavily from resident experiences with property maintenance and upkeep, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional service that delights residents.
The Maintenance Engineer will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to BM Smith Core Values when interacting with team members, customers, and vendors. Understanding that every individual serves as part of the team, the Maintenance Engineer is readily available to assist with requests and acknowledges that no job is too small.
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for completing assigned work order requests and abiding by the make-ready schedule provided by their supervisor. In addition, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager with shop inventory, ensuring that all necessary parts are ordered in a timely fashion and are in stock in time to complete work requests within 48 hours.
Execution of key duties will be most successful when the Maintenance Engineer focuses first on maximizing resident satisfaction through exemplary service, living the BM Smith Vision, Mission, and Values, and providing support to other members of the team as necessary.
