Overview

Avalon Bay Communities, Inc. has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a Senior Manager, Employment and Litigation Counsel.

Senior Manager, Employment and Litigation Counsel at Avalon Bay Communities, Inc. (ACC San Diego - Association of Corporate Counsel).

• Provide support to the Senior Director, Litigation and Operations Counsel and SVP & Associate General Counsel.
• Serve as a key resource for human resources and operating groups throughout the Company.
• Manage the day-to-day aspects of administrative charges and litigation matters.
• Provide practical employment law counseling to business partners across the organization.
• Interact with associates at all levels throughout the Company.

• Minimum of five (5) years of employment law and litigation experience at a reputable law firm and/or corporate in-house legal department.
• Willingness to grow and expand one’s area of expertise beyond employment law and manage non-employment litigation, including but not limited to fair housing or other tenant lawsuits or administrative complaints, commercial litigation, or construction litigation.
• Location/Relocation:
  Arlington, VA. This is an in-office role requiring four days per week onsite; local candidates are preferred.
