The Opportunity:

We need an experienced data professional like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions-from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.

As a Data Engineer at Booz Allen, you'll use your expertise to help build advanced technology solutions and lead data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll guide data engineering activities by overseeing the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.

Here, you'll mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your expertise in analytical exploration and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

You Have:

• 7+ years of experience in sof tware engineering in Python and SQL
• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data science applications at enterprise scale
• 5+ years of experience creating sof tware for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
• 5+ years of experience developing scalable ETL or ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
• Experience developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and supporting project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms
• Experience supervising others and leading projects and deliverables within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• 10+ years of experience using Python, SQL, Scala, R, Haskell, Rus t, C++, C, C#, Julia, Go, or Java
• 5+ years of experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Micro sof t Azure, or Google Cloud
• 5+ years of experience with Distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Accumulo, AWS EMR, Nifi, Luigi, Dask, or Kafka
• 5+ years of experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
• 5+ years of experience with No
  
  SQL databases such as Elasticsearch, Solr, Mongo
  
  DB, or Cassandra
• 5+ years of experience with data warehousing and databases such as AWS Redshift, Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Snowflake
• 5+ years of experience with UNIX or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting
