Cloud Solutions Architect

Job Summary

DSA is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect with a Secret Clearance to work at the Pentagon. The role focuses on supporting large complex cloud operation projects in a high‑tempo DoD environment.

• Design and develop a robust, scalable cloud platform aligned with defense‑in‑depth security policy, translating mission and technical requirements to the enterprise.
• Map user and application requirements to provide system and integration guidance to a team of cloud‑certified engineers.
• Contribute extensive knowledge of modern software development techniques to design services leveraging leading technologies and architecture to meet customer demands.
• Implement, manage, and monitor the environment and deployments in accordance with DoD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) requirements.
• Design and develop automated Dev Sec Ops  pipelines, CI/CD support infrastructure, and data validation pipelines.
• Create testing and implementation plans for all architectural designs.
• Manage the complete life cycle for all components, guiding teams on technical design alternatives, including open‑source options and their implications.
• Provide secure implementation recommendations to developers and engineers, and assist in configuring software and services.
• Manage system architecture, integration, standards, and requirements specifications.
• Ensure compliance with government and industry standards and best practices.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud architectures, integration architectures, Army PPB processes, and BEA integration.
• Deep understanding of DoD laws, regulations, policies, and Army IT policies/directives to assure compliance.
• Undergraduate degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of specialized experience in design, development, and implementation of large‑scale enterprise information systems.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Certified Cloud Solutions Architect or equivalent certification.
• Exceptional understanding of cloud computing technologies, trends, and enterprise architecture.
• Proficiency with data modeling best practices and Agile software development methodology.
• Expert knowledge of key security concepts critical to cloud environments.
• Experience with data integration technologies and business intelligence/analytics implementations.
• Ability to evaluate current or emerging technologies across security, reliability, performance, cost, and operations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience architecting cloud solutions and knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Knowledge of industry‑accepted cloud standards and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in a DoD IT environment.
• Excellent communication skills at senior government levels.
