Description

The AWS Worldwide Public Sector Legal team is looking for a talented attorney to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within  Amazon Web Services is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services and more.

This attorney will support our AWS's public sector sales teams by negotiating, drafting, and advising on a wide range of procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters involving public sector customers worldwide, with special emphasis on public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators that sell to U.S. Federal, State, and local Government customers. This candidate will have knowledge of general laws relating to government contracting and experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with government customers.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and comfortably while making decisions in ambiguous situations.

You will be joining a fast-paced, tightly knit, and diverse legal team that delights in building, innovating and simplifying for its business partners and customers. As part of the team, you will participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects. In this role, you will have access and visibility to business leadership.

• 5+ years of legal experience
• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
• Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
• Experience working cross functionally across several teams
• Experience with government procurement, contracting, or compliance

• Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
• Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracting laws, rules, and regulations
• Experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators serving U.S. government agencies, state / local governments, or other public sector customers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
