Position: SDE, AWS Security, Amazon Optics

Description

Come and build innovative services that secure the foundation of our cloud from security threats. The Amazon Optics team builds and manages services used by AWS employees to secure our physical sites, allowing customers to protect AWS locations and preserving the trust all AWS users have in us. You will work daily with other software development engineers who are passionate about building essential tools to keep AWS sites secure.

The services you build are used worldwide to secure assets for every single AWS customer.

Our team provides solutions where “can’t be done” isn’t considered an answer. We take on the impossible and find creative solutions, stretching yourself, growing personal knowledge, and helping others achieve. You will automate away operational efficiencies for the team and customers, be challenged to solve complex architectural problems with extensible, scalable solutions, and simplify the design wherever possible. You will work with multiple products deployed to every AWS region using AWS services in a fully IaC deployment environment, owning design, development, testing, and deployment end‑to‑end.

You will join a team that values strong intuition but backs it with metrics and other data sources to validate assumptions.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • You design software solutions that enable new features or improve software, aligning your designs with your team's long‑term architectural strategy.
  • You work on difficult problems with visible risks or roadblocks, bringing clarity to problems and identifying simple designs for solutions.
  • You are active in the code review process on your team, providing meaningful feedback to others, including seniors.
