Position: Database Administrator (PostGres, Open Search, DynamoDB, S3) with Security Clearance
Blu Omega is looking for a Database Administrator to join a dynamic team specializing in Post Gres, Open Search, Dynamo

DB, and S3 within a high-stakes Federal engagement. This critical role ensures the integrity, performance, and security of our data platforms hosted on AWS, supporting vital national security initiatives. Arlington, VA Clearance Needed:
Fully adjudicated Secret clearance (active status required). Responsibilities:
* Deploy, configure, and manage Postgre

SQL databases on AWS RDS, ensuring high availability and performance.
* Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and parameter adjustments.
* Implement and validate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data resiliency.
* Manage database security, including roles, privileges, encryption, and compliance with organizational policies.
* Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and version migrations with minimal downtime.
* Automate routine DBA tasks using AWS CLI, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation), and scripting languages like Bash and Python.
* Respond to database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and participate in on-call rotations.
* Maintain detailed documentation, runbooks, and generate periodic health and performance reports.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience supporting database management and development efforts.
* Active, fully adjudicated Secret clearance.
* Proven experience managing AWS RDS for Postgre

SQL, including performance tuning, backups, and upgrades.
* Strong SQL proficiency with the capability to diagnose and resolve performance issues.
* Experience with backup and restore procedures and testing recovery plans.
* Working understanding of AWS monitoring tools such as Cloud Watch and security services including IAM and encryption best practices.
* Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting automation (Bash, Python).
* Experience provisioning and managing Open Search access controls, troubleshooting permission issues. Nice to Haves:
* Experience with Dynamo

DB and S3 for data storage and management.
* Knowledge of additional database platforms or open-source tools.
* Familiarity with Terraform or Cloud Formation for infrastructure automation.
