We are seeking a Travel Management Specialist to provide comprehensive travel management support to the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO) within the Chief Financial Office. This role is responsible for daily support of the Defense Travel System (DTS) and serves as a key Help Desk resource for all F-35-related travel activities.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with DTS, Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), GTCC
, and DoD financial travel regulations, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-visibility DoD environment. (This role is a part of a proposal support.)
- Provide daily Defense Travel System (DTS) support for all F-35 program travel requirements
- Serve as Help Desk support for F-35 personnel, assisting with travel questions, issues, and compliance
- Review and audit DTS authorizations, vouchers, and local vouchers to ensure regulatory compliance and accuracy
- Prepare, review, and recommend travel authorizations and vouchers for payment within established timelines
- Monitor payment status of authorizations and vouchers and coordinate with Approving Officials to ensure timely approvals
- Track and manage traveler DTS profiles for F-35 personnel
- Perform weekly audits of travel obligations, expenditures, and unsubmitted vouchers; prepare and deliver weekly reports
- Monitor F-35 team travel funds and recommend funding adjustments as needed
- Resolve payment, funding, and reimbursement discrepancies with travelers and program teams
- Provide guidance and briefings on proper use of Government Travel Charge Cards (GTCC)
- Deliver periodic written reports on travel expenditures, frequency, and GTCC usage
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years performing travel management or DTS-related duties
- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance
- Advanced knowledge of Defense Travel System (DTS)
- Strong familiarity with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR) related to travel
- Experience supporting DoD or federal travel programs
- Support one of the DoD’s most advanced acquisition programs
- Work directly with joint-service and international stakeholders
