Position: Software Engineer with Security Clearance
Description SAIC is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting mission-critical systems in enterprise and government environments. This position requires a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with foundational experience in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications. Ideal candidates will have exposure to modern programming languages, version control systems, and software development methodologies.

A strong understanding of secure coding practices, troubleshooting, and debugging processes is essential. While prior experience in government or Department of Defense (DoD) environments is a plus, the ability to adapt and rapidly learn complex applications and systems will be highly valued. Preferred candidates will bring experience or familiarity with containerized environments, such as Kubernetes, and an eagerness to engage with new technologies like zarf deployments.

Applicants with certifications in secure programming, cloud technologies, or development frameworks will stand out. Additionally, a collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are critical for success in this role. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior engineer to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience affecting real-world mission outcomes.

The position is Hybrid Remote, with most of the work being done in Arlington, VA. Qualifications SAIC is seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field and 9+ years of experience in IT operations. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in real-time system monitoring, account management, and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying and managing zarf packages, is essential.

Additionally, applicants must hold an active SECRET clearance and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance. Desired

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in IT, Systems Management, or a related discipline is highly preferred. Ideal candidates will have advanced expertise in DI-hosted Kubernetes environments and zarf package management. Experience presenting metrics and operational data to senior leadership in a clear and actionable manner will set candidates apart. Preference will be given to those holding a TS/SCI clearance.
