Vistronix, LLC, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal is seeking a Cloud Architect (JOMIS), to support the Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems (JOMIS) portfolio within the Defense Healthcare Medical Systems (DHMS) program.
This role is remote and requires US Citizenship.
This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing cloud architecture patterns that support operational medicine systems across development, test, and production environments. The Cloud Architect provides technical leadership to ensure JOMIS platforms are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with government standards and mission needs. The role works closely with engineering teams, cybersecurity, Dev Sec Ops , and program leadership to establish clear cloud standards, guide modernization efforts, and ensure consistent implementation across vendors and delivery teams.

Active Secret preferred. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight or more years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, or enterprise infrastructure roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing secure cloud or hybrid environments in regulated or compliance-driven organizations.
- Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy and monolithic architectures into cloud-native or microservices-based architectures (containers, managed services, event-driven patterns as appropriate).
- Experience developing cloud migration strategies and executable plans (discovery, dependency mapping, landing zone readiness, wave planning, cutover/rollback, validation, and decommissioning).
- Strong understanding of networking, identity and access management, secrets management, logging, monitoring, and incident response integration.
- Hands‑on experience with Dev Sec Ops concepts, automation, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with DoD system development lifecycle practices and architecture frameworks such as DoDAF.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Hands‑on architecture experience with at least one hyperscale cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Execution‑focused architect who balances speed, security, and reliability.
- Practices systems thinking and clearly articulates architectural tradeoffs across security, performance, cost, reliability, and delivery speed.
- Organized, self‑directed operator who manages competing priorities, maintains strong follow‑through, and communicates status/risks early in a fast‑paced environment.
- Deep understanding of cloud‑native architectures, integration patterns (e.g., APIs), and major cloud platforms & managed services.
- Communicates effectively with government and contractor stakeholders, including briefing architecture decisions, risks, and recommended paths forward.
- Flexible, team‑oriented mindset with strong customer service focus.
- Demonstrates discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications are a Plus (But Not Required).
- Cloud platform certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Architect.
- DoD or federal security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
- Dev Sec Ops or automation certifications related to Terraform, Kubernetes, or CI/CD platforms.
- Architecture or systems engineering certifications such as TOGAF or equivalent.
- Agile or delivery framework certifications such as SAFe, Scrum, or PMI‑ACP.
