We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Refresh Lead to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of enterprise technology refresh initiatives s position is 100% onsite in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for all tech refresh planning and execution activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across IT, logistics, asset management, security, and operations teams to assess refresh needs and prioritize deployments.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of IT assets subject to refresh, including laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Develop refresh schedules and resource plans aligned to budget and availability constraints.
- Oversee procurement, imaging, configuration, distribution, and retirement of hardware in accordance with organizational policies.
- Ensure that all deployed devices meet cybersecurity standards, are properly configured, and documented in the CMDB.
- Track performance metrics and generate reports on refresh progress, asset utilization, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with helpdesk and support teams to minimize user disruption and ensure positive end‑user experiences during refresh rollouts.
- Identify opportunities for automation or process improvement in tech refresh operations.
- Apply principles, methods, and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements to arrive at automated solutions.
- Identify a technical refreshment schedule that meets the customer’s requirements to be installed and fully operational six (6) months prior to the item’s EOL. Update the schedule quarterly or as the inventory baseline changes.
- Provide a written Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) using Defense Acquisition standards and format to the Government eighteen (18) months in advance of the technological EOL.
- Provide a written plan/schedule for all items to be technically refreshed twelve (12) months in advance of the completion requirement, including a POA&M, critical path, labor and dependencies.
- Complete all technological refreshments no later than six (6) months before an item’s technological EOL, based on full operational capability as defined in the POA&M documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading tech refresh efforts.
- Experience with tech refresh documentation.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form at all levels of the program, including client leadership.
- Familiarity with MS Office products and developing leadership reports.
- Must be able to obtain an Active DoD Secret or Interim Secret Clearance.
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (a current compliant certification is preferred; ability to obtain prior to starting is required). Proof of certification is required. Approved certifications:
Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC , SSCP.
- Experience serving as subject matter expert possessing in-depth knowledge of Technology Refreshment, Capital Planning, and Records Management.
- Experience providing technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high‑level functional systems analysis, and design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems.
- Experience participating in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation and presentation phases.
- Experience applying principles, methods, and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task requirements to arrive at automated solutions.
- Experience with AWS cloud.
