The Intake Coordinator provides the initial contact for the Recovery and Wellness unit. This individual conducts a brief telephone screening to determine the nature and extent of the patient’s addiction issues. Based on the initial clinical assessment and the patient’s expressed needs, a determination of appropriate treatment services needed will be made. This may require an outside referral if inpatient services are not required or cannot be provided by Recovery and Wellness.
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for obtaining the initial insurance information to be given to the insurance verification department for benefit review. As appropriate, the Intake Coordinator will assist in the clinical management and discharge planning of all detox patients. The Intake Coordinator will work closely with Behavioral Health Outpatient Services to provide coordinated referral services for suitable patients. Additionally, this individual will participate with Outpatient Services in implementing a strategic marketing plan to enhance admissions to both inpatient and outpatient services.
Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling or a related field is required.
Experience: Three years of experience in mental health or addictions counseling preferred.
Certification/Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor, or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) required.
