Step into a vital support role as a Central Sterile Processing Technician
, where your attention to detail and commitment to safety help keep patients and clinical teams safe every day. In this fast-paced environment, you’ll be responsible for cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment and instruments, preparing sterile trays, operating sterilization equipment, and ensuring all items are ready for use. You’ll help maintain clean and organized department spaces, assist with deliveries, answer phones, and support the team by participating in training and in-service programs.

VHC Health is a 453-bed not-for-profit Hospital and teaching facility serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area. VHC Health is a designated Level II Trauma Center and a Magnet Facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Responsibilities- Clean and decontaminate medical equipment and instrumentation
- Prepare sterile procedure trays and equipment
- Operate steam, low-temperature sterilizers, and other sterilization equipment
- Maintain clean/sterile storage and department areas
- Answer phone and service door; deliver requested items
- Complete required documentation on activities
- Assist in training and in-service programs for staff and students
- Represent the CSP department in a positive and professional manner
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an accredited Central Service Technician training course preferred
- Four years of experience in sterile processing required
- Certification in central sterile processing required
Commensurate with experience. Team members are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following the date of hire, with 30 days to apply for benefits of choice.
