Overview

This position works within the Fairfax Detoxification Center. It is a withdrawal management program that serves adults experiencing withdrawal from various substances. The program provides both clinical and medical withdrawal management, and serves individuals who may have co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. The role involves assisting with withdrawal management and developing an appropriate discharge plan, frequently to another program for further treatment.

This is an opportunity for a behavioral health professional to gain hands-on clinical leadership experience and support individuals on their path to recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Provides staff supervision for all clinical aspects of the program.
  • Plans, assigns, and reviews work of team members.
  • Interviews and selects candidates for various positions.
  • Performs complex evaluations and makes independent diagnoses using DSM and ICD-10 criteria.
  • Provides individual, family and group treatment.
  • Maintains a caseload of diverse, complex, and high-risk individuals.
  • Develops treatment plans and adapts treatment interventions and approaches.
  • Provides assessment and treatment services to individuals with a wide variety of emotional, social, and mental disorders across severities.
  • Consults with professionals on problems including delivery of needed services for clinically complex cases.
  • Provides liaison to community agencies to facilitate communication and service provision for individuals requiring multiple services.
  • Develops and implements program activities and services, including training and educational activities.
  • Under direction, develops and implements a specialized program to maximize service provision effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Supervises day-to-day program operations.
  • Promotes awareness of program services through presentations.
  • Develops and monitors program policies and procedures.
  • Ensures program compliance with applicable federal, state, and local policies, regulations, and statutes.
  • Mediate and facilitate inter- and intra-program issues with a systems perspective.
  • Plans, recommends, and executes quality initiatives related to mental health standards.
  • Monitors and analyzes the impact of psychotropic medication on an individual’s functioning and mental status.
  • Provides crisis stabilization and crisis management.
  • Ensures the facility is maintained in good operating condition and compliant with health and safety, licensure, and regulatory requirements.
