Purpose & ScopeThe Assistant Counseling Manager is responsible for assisting in the management and provision of counseling services and staffing plans. This includes assisting in counseling and case management activities, admissions and discharge planning, monitoring documentation standards, and responding to fluctuations in patient volume and staffing needs. The individual assists in new employee training and student intern supervision, manages the collection of referrals, and reports to the Director of Social Services.
EducationMaster’s degree in counseling, social work, or another related field is required.
ExperienceFive years in behavioral health counseling is preferred.
Certification / LicensureLicensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Virginia Department of Health Professions, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Virginia Department of Health Professions, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). BLS certification is preferred.
