Overview
Purpose & Scope:
Responsible for cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment and instrumentation; preparing sterile procedure trays and equipment; operating steam, low temperature sterilizers, and any other type of sterilization equipment used within CSP; maintaining sterile / clean storage/ and all other department areas; answering phone and service door; delivering requested items; completing all required documentation on activities; maintaining the standards of the organization's mission, goals, and safety behaviors;
and assisting in other areas as requested. Participate in the training and in-service programs for staff, and students. Assumes responsibility and accountability at all times for quality performance and represent the CSP department in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Clean and decontaminate medical equipment and instrumentation.
- Prepare sterile procedure trays and equipment.
- Operate steam, low-temperature sterilizers, and other sterilization equipment used within CSP.
- Maintain sterile and clean storage areas and other department areas.
- Answer phones and service doors; deliver requested items.
- Complete all required documentation on activities.
- Maintain the organization s mission, goals, and safety behaviors.
- Assist in other areas as requested; participate in training and in-service programs for staff and students.
- Represent the CSP department in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Completion of a course from an accredited central service technician training is preferred.
- One year of sterile processing experience is preferred.
