Purpose & Scope
The Clinical Technician II works under the direct supervision of the RN and is an active member of the health care team. They perform a variety of routine duties involving patient care, including direct patient care or activities of daily living, observing changes in patient status, ensuring a clean and safe environment, transporting patients, and other related duties. The technician must be empathetic and possess good communication and nursing skills.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.
Equivalent ExperienceEquivalent experience is required.
ExperienceSix months of experience as a Clinical Technician I or equivalent clinical experience as defined in the CORE skills for Clinical Technician II, completion or enrollment in Clinical Technician II program or equivalent, or student nurses who have successfully completed the medical/surgical clinical experiences and didactic is required.
Certification / LicensureBLS certification is required.
Other QualificationsMinimum of six education hours related to current role.
