PRN Trauma Surgery APP - Physician Assistant

Overview

Purpose & Scope:

An Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) employed by VHC Health Physicians ("Physician Group") is required to complete an APP Agreement with their Collaborating Physician(s). This Agreement describes the APP’s role and function, APP/Physician Relationship, Functions of the APP, Privileges/Procedures, Prescriptive Authority, Documentation Responsibilities and Evaluation process.

Overall, the APP will support objectives, budget, performance metrics and medical activities at an individual level, including implementation of quality control standards, risk management and compliance programs.

The APP will: support medical activities in alignment with organizational objectives; participate in quality control, risk management and compliance programs; implement and document clinical activities per APP Agreement and Collaborating Physician guidance; and maintain appropriate documentation and evaluation processes.

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
• Experience: Two years as a Physician Assistant preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required; current NCCPA certification required; BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred for PAs.
