SAIC is seeking a Policy Analyst Coordinator to join our team in Arlington, Virginia.
Job Summary: This position serves as a Policy Analyst and Coordinator within the Headquarters Air Force A3 Readiness Division (HAF/A33R). The primary purpose of this role is to provide expert analysis and coordination on readiness‑related policies, manuals, and instructions, ensuring alignment between Office of the Secretary of War (OSWOSW), Joint Staff, Air Force readiness objectives, and Air Force Major Commands (MAJCOMs).
The individual will be responsible for interpreting higher‑headquarters guidance, analyzing its impact on Air Force readiness, and coordinating policy implementation across MAJCOMs and relevant stakeholders, as well as drafting Air Force readiness policies. This role is critical for enhancing the effectiveness of readiness reporting and ensuring the Air Force is prepared to meet global force management demands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary policy analyst within the A33R Reports Branch for all incoming OSW, Joint, and internal Air Force readiness policies, providing detailed assessments of their impact on Air Force resources, training, and operational capabilities.
- Coordinate with OSW, Joint Staff, and other service‑level equivalents on the development and revision of readiness policies to ensure Air Force equities are represented.
- Facilitate and lead HAF A33R policy working groups and integrated planning teams (IPTs) with representatives from HAF, MAJCOMs, and functional communities to deconflict and synchronize policy implementation.
- Draft, review, and staff official Air Force policy documents, including instructions, manuals, and guidance memorandums related to readiness.
- Develop and present executive‑level briefings for senior leaders (General Officer/Senior Executive Service) on complex policy issues, offering data‑driven recommendations.
- Analyze readiness data and trends to identify policy gaps or areas for improvement and propose actionable solutions.
- Act as a liaison between the AF/A33R front office and MAJCOM readiness offices, ensuring clear communication and consistent application of policy.
Qualifications
- Required
Education:
Bachelors and ten (10) years or more experience;
Masters and eight (8) years or more experience;
PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. - Qualifications: Experience working with U.S. military policy and doctrine.
- Demonstrated operational planning experience on the staff of OSW, the Joint Staff, Service Headquarters, or a MAJCOM.
- Extensive knowledge of the DoD policy formulation process and the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience within the Air Force A3/5/8/9 staff directorates.
- Direct experience with Air Force readiness reporting systems and metrics.
- Experience as a policy analyst or coordinator in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.
Clearance:
- Candidate must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
