Financial Manager
Our client is a venture-backed technology company in a complex, government-adjacent industry experiencing significant revenue acceleration. The business is scaling aggressively and investing heavily in building out a best-in-class finance function.
A new CFO recently joined and is redesigning financial reporting, planning, and analytics from the ground up.
The RoleThis is a true build opportunity.
The company does not yet have structured budgeting, forecasting, or formal reporting infrastructure in place. This hire will create it.
The FP&A Manager will partner directly with the CFO and senior leadership to design operating models, implement forecasting processes, establish variance reporting, and develop executive and board-level reporting packages.
There are no direct reports initially, but the scope is expected to expand as the finance team grows.
What You’ll Own- Build and maintain the company’s core operating model
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast cycles
- Design reporting templates, dashboards, and executive packages
- Implement structured variance analysis across revenue and spend
- Develop scenario planning and sensitivity analysis models
- Translate financial results into actionable insights for leadership
- Partner cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and operations
This is hands-on, first-principles work in an early-stage environment.
Profile- 5 to 8+ years of progressive FP&A experience
- Proven ownership of budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Experience building financial models and reporting from scratch
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise
- Strong command of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow dynamics
- Experience in high-growth or venture-backed environments
- Hybrid 2-3 days in office
This is not a transition role for someone coming out of accounting. They want a true FP&A builder.
