US Solar is seeking a Project Finance Director or Senior Director who will lead and drive the financings of a pipeline of community solar, small-scale utility solar, and battery storage projects. The finance group is responsible for interfacing with external tax equity and debt investors active in solar and storage financing. The position will lead these activities, including, but not limited to, investor outreach strategy, decisions on financing options, and negotiating/managing relationships with investors.
The position is a senior level position within US Solar that requires the individual to work collaboratively with our internal leaders across departments for successful project finance execution. This position will lead project acquisition activity and project sale activity in addition to all aspects of financing (development stage, construction and permanent).

This position reports directly to the CFO, will interact with virtually all aspects of the business and will have an ability to contribute to broader strategic initiatives and decision making for the company.
Key Responsibilities- Independently lead solar and battery storage project finance activity
- Evaluate potential project financing partners and the terms/economics
- Support the transaction negotiation with tax equity/debt financing partners
- Maintain strong relationships with financial partners, investors, lenders and other external partners
- Oversee the due diligence and financing closing process with external providers
- Provide guidance to the development team on early stage development opportunities
- Evaluate project M&A opportunities for the company
- Lead strategic project sale processes from upfront outreach to closing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills with strong working knowledge of finance/business concepts
- Self-motivated and driven to exceed expectations
- Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with excellent organization
- Strategic thinker with the ability to react quickly and problem-solve in quickly-changing environment
- Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or math related field preferred
- Experience with project finance Excel models and financial statements a plus
- 8+ years work experience after undergraduate degree preferred
- Direct experience in a similar role or utilizing a similar Core Proficiencies;
Solar or renewables transaction experience required - Existing relationships with tax equity, project lenders, and other industry stakeholders preferred
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power Point
- Knowledge of and passion for the solar marketplace, technology, and industry
- Ability to interface with outside lawyers, consultants, engineers and other stakeholders required
