Financial Analytics Consultant

We areseekinga highly motivatedFinancial Analytics Consultant to join our growing management consulting team. In this role, you will lead analytical and financial modeling efforts that support federal clients in areas such asbudget formulation, budget execution, cost modeling, forecasting, and operational analysis.

You willbe responsible for translating complex financial and operational questions into structured analyses, developing models and projections, and working collaboratively with both clients and technical staff to convert analytical outputs into scalable tools, dashboards, and applications. This role is ideal for a mid-level professional who is comfortable taking ownership of tasks, engaging directly with clients, and rapidly developing subject matterexpertiseto solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical and financial modeling tasks in support of federalfinancial management, budget formulation, and budget execution initiatives.
• Develop,maintain, and enhancefinancial models, forecasts, projections, and scenario analyses, including cost models and operational efficiency analyses.
• Work directly with clients to understand business problems, clarify analytical requirements, andidentifyroot causes of financial and operational issues.
• Translate analytical findings intoclear, actionable insights, including briefing materials, written deliverables, and visualizations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Serve as atask leadfor assigned analytical work streams, managing timelines, coordinating inputs, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with technical staff (developers, data engineers, and BI specialists) to convert financial analyses and models into automated tools, dashboards, and applications.
• Support the development of methodologies, assumptions, and documentation to ensure analyses and models aretransparent, auditable, and repeatable.
• Apply structured problem-solving techniques to quickly develop subject matterexpertisein new financial, budgetary, or operational domains.
• Participate in Agile or iterative delivery approaches, contributing to planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement of analytical products.
• Support quality control efforts by reviewing analyses and models for accuracy, logic, and alignment with client objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting,Business, ora related field.
• 3–4years of relevant experience in financial analysis, consulting, budgeting, cost analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Demonstrated experience buildingfinancial models, forecasts, projections, or cost analysesin Excel or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop defensible solutions.
• Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders to define requirements and present analytical findings.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.

Financial Analysis & Modeling Skills

• Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and structured modeling techniques.
• Experience developingcost models, budget projections, forecasting models, and variance analyses.
• Familiarity with financial and operational data structures, including budgets, obligations, expenditures, payroll, or similar domains.
• Experience creating clear and effectivecharts, tables, and visual summariesto communicate analytical results.
• Exposure to business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Ability to document assumptions, methodologies, and logic to support auditability and long-term model sustainability.
• Comfort working with imperfect or incomplete data and developing reasonable assumptions to support decision-making.
