Senior Accountant

A growing real estate organization is seeking a detail‑oriented, hands‑on Senior Accountant to support financial operations across its multifamily housing and development portfolio. This role will be the right hand to the Controller and is expected to grow into Assistant Controller. The position will manage consolidated reporting and various operational accounting areas.

Role Requirements: BS in Accounting, 5+ years of experience, MIP software

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and cash‑basis requirements.
• Perform and oversee complex account reconciliations, including intercompany activity, restricted funds, prepaid balances, donations, grants, and accruals.
• Manage general ledger operations for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Lead the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines.
• Track and reconcile contributions, grants, and incoming funds with proper documentation and classification.
• Support treasury activities, including daily cash monitoring, liquidity tracking, and maintaining up‑to‑date bank account records.
• Assist in coordinating tax estimates, extensions, and filings alongside internal and external partners.
