Job OverviewThe Accounting Manager, Controllership will be a key leader in the Controllership group and report to the AVP of Financial Reporting. The role oversees debt and equity related accounting, legal entity internal reporting, and accounting for acquisitions. The manager will develop process improvements of internal reporting and financial statements, enabling the team to focus on analyzing and communicating results and providing proactive customer service.
Responsibilities- Oversee monthly accounting for debt, equity, and acquisitions, including journal entry review, account reconciliations, and related reporting deliverables.
- Manage financial statements and month‑end reporting for standalone legal entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Senior and Staff Accountants to drive team performance and engagement.
- Identify and implement process improvements to accelerate close timing, enhance accuracy, and strengthen financial reporting controls.
- Support regulatory requirements, including SOX testing, audit schedules, and reconciliations for internal and external audits.
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related fields.
- 7+ years of professional experience, with 2–3 years progressive experience leading teams.
- Strong understanding of internal controls.
- CPA license.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to change.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management in a team‑oriented environment.
- Excellent computer skills, including intermediate Excel skills.
- CPA license with experience in public accounting and broker/dealer environments.
- Strong background in debt and equity accounting, acquisitions, and related reporting.
- Proficiency with Oracle Financials, Hyperion, and auto-reconciliation tools (e.g., Trintech).
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Excel Spreadsheet Server.
- Master’s degree and/or FINRA/SIPC membership is a plus.
$77,625 – $129,375 per year. Actual base salary varies based on skill, experience, education, peer base salary, performance, and geography. LPL Total Rewards package includes 401(k) matching, health benefits, employee stock options, paid time off, volunteer time off, and more.
