Operations Manager
Do you want to shape the future of reliability across one of the world's largest fulfillment networks? As a Senior FMEA Program Manager on the Global Reliability Intelligence Programs (GRIP) team, you will lead the development and global scaling of Amazon's Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) program — driving proactive risk mitigation, equipment reliability, and operational excellence across hundreds of fulfillment sites worldwide.
- Own the strategic vision and execution of a global reliability framework that directly impacts customer experience
- Partner with engineering, site leadership, and regional teams across multiple continents
- Build scalable processes and technical capability that support continuous improvement at Amazon's scale
- Lead and scale the Global FMEA Program across Amazon's fulfillment network, establishing standardized methodologies, tools, and best practices to proactively identify and mitigate equipment failure modes.
- Develop program infrastructure and governance including FMEA training curricula, certification programs, audit processes, and performance metrics to measure program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams, site leadership, vendors, and equipment manufacturers to conduct comprehensive FMEAs during equipment design, procurement, and installation phases.
- Establish data‑driven decision‑making processes by integrating FMEA insights with reliability analytics and maintenance records to identify root causes and preventive actions for major equipment failure events.
- Build and mentor a network of FMEA practitioners and reliability subject‑matter experts across global sites, developing technical capability to sustain program growth and improve asset performance.
- Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally to support implementations, training, and workshops
In this role, you will spend your time working at the intersection of data, engineering, and operations. A typical day may include reviewing FMEA outputs submitted by regional Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) teams, facilitating alignment meetings with site leadership and equipment vendors, and analyzing reliability data to identify emerging failure trends across the network.
You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including regional RME managers, equipment engineers, and operations leaders to prioritize high‑impact equipment for analysis and ensure risk mitigation strategies are implemented on schedule. You will also engage with external vendors and equipment manufacturers to conduct FMEAs during design and procurement phases — often coordinating across time zones.
When traveling to fulfillment sites, you will lead hands‑on FMEA workshops, deliver training to local reliability teams, and provide technical guidance to practitioners building their FMEA capabilities. Back at your home base, you will synthesize findings into program‑level insights, develop governance documentation, and communicate progress to senior leadership.
About the teamThe Global Reliability Intelligence Programs (GRIP) team sits within the Global Reporting and Standards organization and is focused on building the systems, frameworks, and analytical capabilities that enable Amazon's fulfillment network to operate with greater reliability and resilience. Our team works at a global scale, partnering with regional engineering and operations teams to translate data into action and drive measurable improvements in equipment uptime and maintenance effectiveness.
We are a team that values intellectual curiosity, cross‑functional collaboration, and a commitment to building scalable solutions. We believe that proactive reliability management — not reactive repair — is the foundation of a world‑class fulfillment operation. If you are energized by solving complex, high‑impact problems and want your work to be felt across a global network, this is the team for you.
