Overview

We’re recruiting a Cyber Security Engineer IV to work for our client to provide security testing, security controls, general cybersecurity support, and leadership supporting the execution of a large size, multi-year contract to the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP). The Cyber Security Engineer IV will be responsible for the integrity of the environment architecture, to include reviewing designs, scanning for vulnerabilities, and drafting and implementing security controls.

The Engineer IV will write weekly and monthly status reports regarding security efforts to be sent to upper-level management as well as the Army client. While the Cyber Security Engineer IV will be capable of solving highly complicated problems without much assistance, collaboration will be an integral part of this role and the level IV Engineer should expect to communicate frequently and openly with other Cyber Security professionals and the numerous Agile Teams across the AMP program.

As the highest-level Cyber Security Engineer on the AMP program, the candidate should serve as a positive mentor for junior employees, coaching team members as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting cybersecurity activities including reviewing architectural designs for impacts to cybersecurity concerns.
  • Analyze security scans to identify vulnerabilities and review test findings to coordinate resolution and reduce opportunities for breaches.
  • For vulnerabilities that cannot be eliminated, assist with Risk Management Framework (RMF) actions to identify risk, risk measurement and assessment, risk mitigation, and risk reporting and monitoring – including creation of Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) as appropriate.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and maintain controls needed to deliver certified and accredited systems in accordance regulations.
  • Support security testing, audits, and generation of remediation and mitigation plans.
  • Support weekly and monthly reports on administration and remediation activities.
  • Performs work with a high degree of latitude.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of Cybersecurity and Information Assurance subject matter.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a group.
  • May act as lead or first-level supervisor.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 6-8 years of experience within the federal government, DoD, Army, or IC and/or private sector preferred.

Skills/

Qualifications:

Certifications in SAFe Dev Ops and IAT Level II preferred.

Clearance Requirements: This position requires a current Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Work Location: Work location will be in the Arlington, Virginia office with hybrid option.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
