We are looking for a qualified Mission Architect to work with our team in Arlington, VA.
Position Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mission Architect or Mission Engineer to support design, CONOPS, and modeling of Navy missions, Navy warfare scenarios, and analysis of Navy war fighting operations. Once hired, the new team member will support the development and sustainment of mission-level modeling and simulation products with documented pedigree, and the production of mission engineering requirements, architectures, and analysis, all with an emphasis on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and tools.
MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE WITH THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A TOP SECRET.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Create integrated architectures using a combination of office tools and integrated architecture tools.
- Develop architectures using knowledge of Naval missions and an understanding of current and expected operational problems and gaps in performance of Naval missions.
- Develop operational scenarios and mission threads utilizing a combination of architecture tools and common MS Office products.
- Provide systems engineering support in the development of next-generation warfare through requirements engineering, architectural design, and initial design for advanced integration concepts.
- Develop concepts, trade studies, operational capability gap analysis, operational and system performance requirements development, functional architecture definition and allocation, system definition, and performance evaluations.
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, systems engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Relevant work or college/internship experience, including knowledge of industry-standard architecture and modeling languages (UML, SysML) and frameworks (DoDAF, UAF), and knowledge in an industry standard architecture tool (e.g., Magic Draw, Rhapsody, Rationale System Architect).
- Familiarity and experience working with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other warfare systems.
- Experience in integrating technologies into operational-level architectures.
- Experience working alongside operational forces.
- Familiarity or experience collaborating with a broad community of Navy mission partners such as Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other Department of Defense agencies (e.g., Missile Defense Agency (MDA)).
