Virtual Design Modeler

Overview

Work effectively and collaboratively with all team members, using digital informational tools to assist the Associate Architect in facilitating an efficient design process; optimizing the coordination of multi-discipline challenges and enhancing successful design. Produce detailed constructible design-drawings that support the delivery of complex design projects with BIM and other tools, typically up to an LOD of 400.

• BIM Design Modeling:
  Contribute with digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of a building or facility.
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Conduct collision detection across multiple disciplines.
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Grow skills in modeling for production of walk-through videos.
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Expand knowledge in using BIM Technology to support in optimizing designs for client requirements to the appropriate levels of development (LOD).
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Develop 3D BIM models up to an LOD 400, or as needed, for handover to construction and fabrication teams.
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Work with BIM-VDC teams to facilitate the best flow of information and the setting up of models to support delivery.
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Grow skills in developing the 4D and 5D functionality to analyze different construction sequences and techniques to optimize cost and schedule.
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Support preparing BIM models for use in other software, such as programs for fluid flow analysis or energy modeling.
• BIM Design Modeling:
  Expand experience with a range of software (Autodesk, Bentley, Sketch Up, etc.).
• BIM/VDC Construction Modeling:
  Initial System Modeling – Grow 3D modeling skills for piping, plumbing and/or ductwork systems in compliance with building codes, construction standards, contract documents, and instructions from the project leadership.
• BIM/VDC Construction Modeling:
  Route piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork systems.
• BIM/VDC Construction Modeling:
  Show all components and systems.
• BIM/VDC Construction Modeling:
  Coordination – Overlay piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork systems with other trades.
• BIM/VDC Construction Modeling:
  Re-route piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork as required.
• BIM/VDC Construction Modeling:
  Contribute to the producing sign-off record drawings.
• BIM/VDC Construction Modeling:
  Contribute with the Model management.
• Misc.:
  Other duties and tasks as assigned.
• Misc.:
  Contributes to the desired safety and work culture of the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in BIM, Architecture, or Engineering Preferred
• 4+ years of Drafting/Design in the Construction Industry (or experience gained through school projects)
• Proficient understanding of Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication, or Navisworks
• Working knowledge of construction practices with emphasis on mechanical systems
• Knowledge of building codes for plumbing and piping industries
• Ability to integrate with Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality Software
• Revit and Autodesk certifications preferred

Pay Range: $65,393 - 98,089 per year

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
