Role Summary

Supports local site network operations, upgrades, and troubleshooting under the guidance of Senior and Referral Network Engineers in the DHA enterprise environment. Executes switch/router changes and VLAN management; performs cabling certification; assists with firewall/VPN/IDS tasks; uses enterprise tools to resolve incidents and support modernization deployments.

Required Skills

Protocol proficiency: TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, Spanning Tree variants.
Hands‑on configuration of switches/routers and WAPs; VLAN creation and management.
Cabling certification and drop testing; OTDR familiarity.
Solar Winds, Ansible, and ARMIS experience for monitoring and diagnostics.
Support of firewall/VPN/IDS implementations and change requests.

Certifications (Required)

DoD 8140 – Network Operations Specialist (Intermediate level)
Security+
CCNA or equivalent

Experience

Bachelor’s and 3 years; OR technical training and 5 years of directly related experience.
