Job Description HII, Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Spectrum Engineer to support a critical Department of War (DoW) initiative focused on dynamic spectrum sharing. The initiative aims to demonstrate innovative technologies and strategies for enabling more efficient and dynamic use of the radio frequency spectrum within the DoD as well as across other government agencies and commercial companies.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of spectrum management principles, radio frequency (RF) engineering, and wireless communication systems, with a proven track record in analyzing and resolving spectrum-related challenges. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-visibility project with significant impact on national security. Essential
Job Responsibilities
* Technical Information Synthesis and Policy Impact Assessment:
Extract and synthesize key technical findings related to new spectrum-sharing technologies and strategies as well as assess the potential policy and technical implications for the Department of War.
* Stakeholder Communication:
Translate complex information into clear, concise summaries for senior leaders. Draft presentations articulating the who, what, where, when, and why of the discussed technical concepts and proposed technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
* Performance Testing and Validation:
Assist the Exercise Planner with the development and execution of test plans to validate the performance of dynamic spectrum sharing systems, analyzing results to identify areas for improvement and documenting findings.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with policy makers, program managers, and system architects to align RF engineering with strategic goals.
* Spectrum Analysis and Modeling:
Conduct spectrum analysis and modeling to assess occupancy, interference, and sharing opportunities, developing models to evaluate dynamic sharing algorithms.
Minimum Qualifications
* 7 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
* Deep understanding of RF propagation, modulation techniques, and spectrum allocation frameworks.
* Familiarity with regulatory bodies and standards (FCC, NTIA, ITU).
* Strong technical understanding of 5G operations and architecture.
* Knowledgeable of 3
GPP standards related to 5G.
* Familiar with Title 10 USC 947, particularly the DoW's role in oversight and management of the Department's electromagnetic spectrum.
* Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
* Clearance:
Secret to start with ability to obtain TS/SCI. Preferred Requirements
• Experience with military or aerospace RF systems.
• Knowledge of cognitive radio, dynamic spectrum access, or electronic warfare.
Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
