Cyber Operations Engineer

Our client is seeking a Cyber Operations Engineer in Washington, DC. The Cyber Operations Engineer will play a vital role supporting a Homeland Security client, focusing on operational compliance, automation, and project coordination. This position is well suited for a candidate skilled at the intersection of engineering, scripting, and operational delivery, who thrives in a dynamic federal environment.

Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and monitoring across security vulnerability and scanning platforms.

Monitor system health and process flows; escalate issues until automated alerting is implemented.

Support operational project management including tracking requirements, updating timelines, facilitating team syncs, and ensuring deliverables are met.

Drive continuous improvement of operational processes and documentation.

Collaborate effectively with engineering, compliance, and security teams.

2–4 years of experience in operations, Dev Ops, or automation engineering.

Proficient in Python with experience building and modifying automation workflows.

Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Confluence, and Power BI.

Strong multitasking abilities and effective communication skills across teams.

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Must be a U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance.
