As a Project Engineer
, you'll play a key role in ensuring every aspect of the project runs smoothly—from technical planning and documentation to problem‑solving in the field. You'll work closely with superintendents, craft teams, and clients to deliver safe, high‑quality, on‑time results.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting design plans and specifications for construction teams.
- Identifying and resolving design discrepancies, interferences, or field challenges.
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation—status reports, submittals, sketches, punch lists, and more.
- Monitoring budgets, costs, and schedules to support project profitability.
- Assisting in preparation of field design changes and “as‑built” drawings.
- Supporting project safety programs and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Providing mentorship or training to junior team members.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Five (5) to eight (8) years of previous construction, design, or project management experience in heavy civil or highway work preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong technical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
- Business‑minded approach with attention to detail and cost control.
