Overview
Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to support our vision of becoming the best water consulting firm. This role involves work on municipal water and wastewater treatment plant projects, including major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse initiatives that create sustainable and resilient water supplies.
Responsibilities- Perform engineering work in the design, rehabilitation, and/or construction of water, wastewater, and reuse treatment facilities.
- Develop design reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water, wastewater, and reuse projects, including permitting and alternative analysis.
- Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables; conduct data analysis throughout the construction phase.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on medium to large projects of moderate complexity.
- Manage budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other supervisors or team leaders.
- Train and monitor internal staff.
- Act independently and make authoritative decisions on technical matters.
- Develop and maintain significant client relationships and client maintenance responsibilities.
- Support firm’s relationships with client management personnel.
- Identify and direct sub‑consultants performing services on projects.
- Collaborate in proposal preparation and overall business development pursuits.
- Actively participate in professional associations, including presentation of technical papers and membership on technical committees; serve as officer of local or national organizations.
- Travel as required when requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in the water industry with at least five years of project management experience.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and construction phase of small, medium, and large sized water and/or wastewater treatment projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience in facilities planning and analysis of small, medium, and large sized water and/or wastewater treatment projects, including process modeling, condition assessment, and capital improvement program (CIP) development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Design and construction phase experience.
- DBIA certification.
Salary will be based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
