Structural Engineer - Federal Buildings
Join Jacobs’ Federal Buildings & Infrastructure team in Arlington, VA – collaborate with expert architects and engineers to design structural systems for a variety of building types, including airports, government and mission‑critical facilities, data centers, and large‑scale manufacturing facilities.
Base Pay Range$/yr – $/yr
ResponsibilitiesAccountable for scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality of design deliverables, whether working independently or leading a project team. Utilize our global network of industry experts and travel opportunities.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis
- 5+ years of relevant buildings‑related structural design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM)
- Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE)
- Desire to take independent initiative and ownership of work
- United States citizenship
- Structural Engineer (SE) license
- Experience with Revit
- Familiarity with Federal government clients, standards, and criteria (e.g., UFC)
- Experience with design‑build and early contractor involvement delivery methods
- United States security clearance, or the ability to obtain it
