Senior FPGA Development Engineer, Bespoke Solutions

Amazon is expanding AWS connectivity and looking for a Senior FPGA Development Engineer with experience developing programmable logic on the most advanced FPGAs. The role will sit in the new Arlington HQ and will architect, develop, and integrate scalable FPGA systems in the AWS technology ecosystem.

• Develop custom RTL and integrate with third‑party libraries to build end‑to‑end 100G+ solutions.
• Collaborate with design and system engineers to perform tradeoffs and architect new solutions for customers.
• Own the interface between software and hardware by developing drivers and providing software examples.
• Lead design meetings to plan development and review peer designs.
• Identify new opportunities and new technologies to improve the customer experience and add features.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of non‑internship design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 7+ years of non‑internship professional RTL development experience
• 3+ years developing programmable logic in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA SOCs

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of full RTL development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Experience developing programmable logic for FPGAs in VHDL or Verilog
• Experience with Xilinx Ultrascale+ FPGAs, Versal ACAPs, and/or Intel Agilex SOCs
• Experience developing programmable logic for 100G Networking Systems
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

Security Clearance:
This position requires US citizenship and an active Secret security clearance. After start, the selected candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
